The Drive Reach is weBoost’s most powerful, in-vehicle cell phone signal booster yet. With its increased uplink output, users get signal up to 2X farther from towers with over twice the signal strength — signifying an increase of almost 5dB in uplink output power.
The weBoost Drive Reach Signal Booster (470154) is the most powerful vehicle signal booster that Wilson Electronics offers. It features the FCC maximum downlink power and an increased uplink power back to the cell towers that allows it to be 2x further from the cell towers than it’s predecessor, the Drive 4G-X. This means that you’ll get the same great coverage inside of your vehicle and can be even further from the cell towers while still maintaining reliable call and data speeds.
The weBoost Drive Reach boosts all of the networks by all of the major carriers in the United States and Canada, including 2G, 3G, 4G HSPA+, 4G LTE, and 5G E, so you’ll receive clear voice calls, faster data speeds, and reliable text messages. The booster broadcasts quality signal wirelessly inside the vehicle, so you can use your phone like normal while enjoying great signal and fast data speeds.
The weBoost 470154 Drive Reach’s inside coverage area will depend on your existing outside signal strength. In areas where you have a moderate existing outside signal, the Drive Reach will fill a normal vehicle with boosted coverage. As the outside signal gets weaker, the inside coverage area will shrink, until you may have to keep your phone within about 18 inches from the inside antenna in order to take advantage of the boosted signal.
Finally, the new power supply features a USB-A port for rapid phone charging while using the booster.
The weBoost Drive Reach works by having a 4 inch magnet mount antenna on the top of the vehicle receive the outside cell signal and pass it over a cable to a signal amplifier located inside of the vehicle. The amplifier boosts the cell signal, and then sends it over another cable to a small inside antenna, which broadcasts the boosted signal to the area of the vehicle that needs better signal.
The entire process also works in reverse, so you get a strong and reliable connection back to the distant cell towers.
The strength of your existing outside signal, measured in the location where you plan to mount the outside antenna, has a direct impact on the amount of inside coverage you’ll get from a signal booster. The table below shows how much coverage you may get depending on your outside signal strength:
